Biodome

Over here in Quebec, June 24th is a holiday for St-Jean. Everyone was off work, but it was a SUPER rainy day. We decided to go spend the day looking at animals at the Biodome with Grandma and Grandpa. It was awesome. I always forget how much I like going there. My big boy had a blast. His favorites were the penguins with the "funny hair", the otter and the giant fish tank.

Easter 2014

My big man very excited about what the Easter Bunny left for him on his Easter hunt!

Happy Easter Baby Brother

My boys!

I decided to put Baby D in my big boy's baptism outfit for Easter. I figured that by the time Baby D gets baptized, it wont fit him anymore, so may as well make him wear it at least once. I thought that Easter was a good time! He looked soooo handsome!

Cuteness!

Hope everyone had a great Easter!

Mother's Day 2012

This past Sunday I hosted a Mother's day brunch. My parents, my inlaws, my grandma, and my brother with his family where invited. We were 10 adults and 3 kids. It turned out to be a really nice day. I was up early preparing all the food. Some I even baked the night before. These events are always a lot of work, but worth it in the end! Here's a little walk-through of the spread I made.

Strawberry and Yogurt Muffins

Healthy Chocolate Muffins (made with oats, greek yogurt and apple sauce)

Oven Fries

A tomato, basil and bocconcini salad. Lots of bacon! (took me 1.5 hours to fry!)

Mini Frittatas (I made in muffin tins)

Raspberries and Black Berries

Strawberries in this cute little pink bucket

A peach nectar Mimosa to start the morning right!

Here's a picture of me and my little man!

And this is what happens after a big day and no nap! Haha So cute!

For dessert we had coffee and Chocolate Mousse that my dad made (I forgot to take a picture). Sooooooo yummy! Oh and with our meal we had homemade bread. Two types: Cinnamon and Raison, and Pecan and Dates. My mom made them and they were to die for! (Also forgot to take a picture). After stuffing our bellies full, we hung out for awhile. Then everyone left but my in-laws and we took the little man to the park to play a bit. We called his friends to joins us. Thats pretty much it for the day. After the park we went home, the inlaws went home and we rested. It was a full busy day. The weather was beautiful and it was nice spending time with the family.

It is a true blessing to be a mother and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world! I love my little man so much! And I love MY mom with all my heart too! XOX  Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!

I Heart You!

This year since Valentine's day was on a Tuesday and I didn't think anyone really had plans, I invited my family over for a special Valentine's supper. I figured, why not spend the day of love with more than just one person you love right? So here's who came, My parents, my grandma, my brother, my sister in law, my nephew and niece, and of course me, hubby and Baby! It was a full house. So naturally I went with a red themed meal. Cliche? Ah who cares, it all tasted good and one of the easiest things to make to entertain a big crowd is pasta and sauce. That's what was on the menu. A meat sauce over cheese and spinach ravioli. YUM! I have to admit, my sauce turned out fabulous. It was so flavorful and best of all, there were many hidden nutrients in the mix. Sneaky me! Sauce is the best way to get your kids to eat their veggies without them even knowing.

Yum!
So after we stuffed our faces on Ravioli and wine, I set out a big bowl of strawberries. They were so sweet and delicious.

My little man feeding all the ladies some strawberries. Oh they start so young! Hehe!

After the strawberries, it was time for coffee and dessert. I found a recipe online for red velvet whoopie pies with cream cheese frosting in the shape of hearts. So cute and they looked so tempting. So I decided to make them. I made the heart cookies and then realized I had forgotten to buy cream cheese. And you can't have cream cheese frosting with cream cheese now can you. So I really didn't feel like breaking my head over trying to find something else to make the sandwich part of the whoopie pies, so they turned out to be whoopie pies sans cream! They were really good even without the filling. Here is a picture! They came out so moist.

That pretty much concludes the meal part of our evening. After cleaning the kitchen and doing all the dishes, we played with the kids, watched a movie and relaxed. It was a really nice way to spend Valentine's day! Good food and my family....what more could a girl ask for! :o)

My three little Valentine's eating lollipops and watching the Care Bear Movie!

Hope everyone had a nice Valentine's day filled with love and laughter!
