My little munchkin turned 4 months old on May 8th! Time is flying by! If only they could stay small for a little bit longer.

Baby D's Milestones

So I haven't been as much of an avid blogger this time around with Baby D as I was with Baby L, for obvious reasons. Less time! So I decided to write a post today with all Baby D's milestones so far. Lets see if I remember most of them.

First Smile: 1 Month Old
First Coo: 7 weeks
Discovered Feet: 4 Months
Hand sucking: Since the Beginning
Toe sucking: Almost there....

Stuff he likes:
Attention (which baby doesn't right)
Eating (mommy's milk)
His feet
Sucking on his thumb and pretty much his whole hand
Loves his brother's silliness
Being naked or at least his legs free from clothes
His blanky
Mommy singing Franny's Feet
Brian Adams music (lol)
His froggy rattle and little elephant rattle

Stuff he doesnt like:
His carseat (screams bloody murder)
Pacifier (I seriously tried...he hates it!)
Drinking from a bottle (mommy not happy....it would be nice to get a break)
Being left alone (he likes attention)

I think that's pretty much all the milestones for now. More to come soon. Tomorrow he will be getting his first taste of cereal. I know he's younger than the recommended age, but I will explain in another post! Stay tuned!

Remembering

Yesterday I spent the day at my parent's house. While hanging out in the kitchen, I noticed a little heart next to today's date in my dad's agenda. I know he usually writes birthdays and events in his agenda so he can remember them, but I couldnt think of anything happening on May 1st. So I asked him.

Me- "Dad, whats with the little heart next to May 1st?"
Dad- "I'm not telling you."
Me- "Why?"
Dad- "Because it's going to make you sad."
Me- "Sad? I really have no idea what you're talking about."
Dad- "May 1st is when you lost your first baby. I always put a little heart beside that day to remember my other little grandson."

I was floored. One, because it was so touching to me that he would remember this date every year in memory of his grandson (not that I doubted it). And two, because I totally forgot all about it. How could this happen? Is is because it was so traumatic that my mind decided to block this event out of my head? Is it the sleep deprivation that's making my mind a little more than forgetful these days? Or is it simply that I forgot?
Does this make me a bad mother? I hope not! I lay in bed last night trying to figure out how I could forget such a thing and I came up with nothing. I will not try to explain or make excuses for myself. I simply forgot.

Today I lit a candle. I lit a candle in memory of my first little boy who came into this world as quickly as he left it. I lit a candle for my little peanut who would have been 5 years old today. I lit a candle to remember my love, my heartache, and my tears. Today I lit a candle to remind me how lucky I am to have 2 healthy boys who I can kiss and hug. I lit a candle so I can send my kisses and my hugs to my little boy who's in heaven. Today I lit a candle....

I hope you're happy little peanut, wherever you may be. Until I can hold you in my arms again, 'til then, I'll hold you in my heart....Mommy loves you...

Easter 2014

My big man very excited about what the Easter Bunny left for him on his Easter hunt!

Happy Easter Baby Brother

My boys!

I decided to put Baby D in my big boy's baptism outfit for Easter. I figured that by the time Baby D gets baptized, it wont fit him anymore, so may as well make him wear it at least once. I thought that Easter was a good time! He looked soooo handsome!

Cuteness!

Hope everyone had a great Easter!

DIY Bird Feeders

A couple of weeks ago, I was trying to figure out what to do with all the empty toilet paper rolls I had on hand. I always keep them for crafting purposes, but I was starting to run out of creativity on what to create next. Here's what I came up with. Bird Feeders!! Simple Simple. Here is what you  need:

Empty toilet paper roll
Peanut butter
Small spatula
Bird Seeds

Spread peanut butter with small spatula onto toilet paper roll

Dont forget to taste the peanut butter

Pour seeds into a plate

Roll the peanut butter covered toilet paper roll in the seed until covered

Put rolls onto a branch and Voila, instant bird feeder

Still waiting to see the birds eating from our creations. Then again, the weather has been so strange this year. The birds probably decided to stay down south. Smart Birds!!

Science at it's Best!

This winter has been soooooooooo long this year. Besides having baby D, I've had to keep my older boy busy. I decided to look up some science experiments online and here's one of them. What you do is soak an egg in vinegar for 5 days and compare it to an egg that was soaked in water for 5 days. Here are the results.

Day 1

Day 5- Water returned no results, egg stayed as is
Vinegar looked like it was eating away at the shell

With a little rinse under water, the shell completely dissolved and the egg was now see through. The picture isnt great but you can actually see the yolk rolling around inside. It was also really squishy, like a hard boiled egg. Really cool!

Next. the egg was supposed to bounce if dropped lightly.

One, two, three, SPLAT!

Guess not!

Oh well!!

This was a really cool experiment. I didnt think it would work. It really did (minus the bouncing part). My big boy was super excited to see the progress of our egg throughout the 5 days. Stay tuned for some more science!

Here is a small photo of Baby D & Baby Z's first playdate. Ok, so they didnt really play, but they sure looked cute lying down together. They are one month apart minus one day. I'm sure they will grow up and be great friends. Afterall, their mommy's are!

Hehe love footy jammies!

So Sweet!

You know Baby Z is thinking "Oh boy, look at all that hair!"
