October Recap and November News

 Hello my Spicy friends!

I hope everyone is doing well. Can you believe that October is already over? I feel like it barely started and poof....November! It's nuts! It was a busy and wonderful month though. Here are a few events that happened that I didn't mention in my last posts.

Pumpkin Picking at a beautiful pumpkin patch, 10 minutes away from home!

Getting my kiddos hooked on a board game from my childhood! So happy that they love it!

My littlest nugget started swimming lessons and he LOVES it!

Went to a German fest to watch my nieces and nephew dance traditional German dances!

Went to the Light the Night walk in memory of my beautiful cousin Jenifer that lost her life 8 years ago to Leukemia. Missing her everyday ❤

And last but not least, Halloween! It was one of the best halloweens. The weather was sooooo cooperative. It was super warm (21 degrees!), no wind, no rain....what more could you ask for?

So blessed to have so much to talk about. Sometime I complain that life is TOO busy, but it truly is a blessing to be able to wake up each day and have the health to be able to do all the things I do! November is going to be just as busy, if not more. November is a month of lots and lot of birthdays. I also signed up to 3 vendor events this month. I have one this Saturday. Fingers crossed it goes well. I'll keep you up to date :)

Have a beautiful day my Spicy friends!

Freezer Meal Workshop and Vendor Events!

 Hello my Spicy friends,

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! I totally forgot to come on here and let you know how the freezer meal workshop went! Well, as always, it went super well. We had a blast and prepared 10 freezer meals together. The location was awesome. Usually we do it in my bestie`s kitchen, but this time we rented a community room in a old folks residence and let me tell you, it was great. A huge room with big tables, a full kitchen and beautiful view. Definitely will be renting this room again for future workshops, or even just for a party. There was even a huge speaker and a mic (do I hear Karaoke in the near future? Lol).

For the last 2 years I have participated at a vendor event that supports breast cancer. This past Saturday was my third time. I absolutely love this event (it's more of a love/hate relationship, and I will explain why). It`s a day of laughing, making connections and a LOT of tears. So many inspiring stories from breast cancer survivors and ladies who are still fighting the good fight. Such a touching day. Every year I fear that some of these wonderful ladies won`t return, and this is sometimes the case. 2 ladies who were with us last year, lost the awful battle to this horrible disease. This is where I kinda hate this event. So very sad. It also really humbles you though. It brings you right back down to earth and makes you realize that all the small things we complain about, are really not that important. These strong ladies have fought or are still fighting everyday for their health, and really in the end, health is really all that matters.

All that aside, business wise, this event went SUPER well! Last year, it was pouring rain and so we had a lot less traffic. This year, the weather was beautiful and there was quite a traffic flow. If I say that maybe only 4 people who walked by my table didn`t buy something, I might be exaggerating. It was amazing to see how many people LOVE Epicure and also how many people never heard of it and were willing to give it a try. I love vendor events because of all the new connections I get to make. I have made so many new friends from these events, and I love it. Also, I get to talk about food all day, and what could be better than that 🤣

I have 2 other vendor events lined up so far and just on Saturday was offered 4 more. Not sure I will do all of them (my kids may never forgive me for being away every weekend!), but I definitely feel like these events are my place to be, so we`ll see.

Have a beautiful day, my Spicy friends!

Freezer Meal Workshop Fun!

Hello my Spicy Friends,

So I've been hard at work creating and finding recipes for my next freezer meal workshop.

Imagine having 10 meals in your freezer, ready to toss into your crockpot, Instapot or sheet pan? Sounds like a dream right? Well, guess what? You don't have to be asleep for this . LOL!

Ok, so a bit of context here. Last year I started a freezer meal workshop with some of my friends and it was just so fun and to be honest, very productive. We prepared 10 freezer bag meals, that were labeled and ready to pop into the freezer. The recipes could be cooked in the crockpot or Instapot or even a sheet pan from either thawed or frozen. Just so convenient on a busy weeknight. When 4 o'clock rolls around your crockpot smells amazing and you don't have to fuss about dinner at what I like to call the "witching hour". You know, that time when the kiddos get home and you're busy helping with homework and getting snacks and the kids are driving you nuts! Yeah, that time! If you don't have to cook during all that craziness, BONUUUUUS!

Anyway, I posted about our workshop on facebook and started to plan the next one. Well, it blew up (in a good way) and now everyone wanted to come! We went from being 4 people to 9. Now, when you are doing this in a home kitchen (Thanks to my bestie for lending us her big kitchen), it starts to get a bit tight when you are so many people. BUT, we definitely made it work and dare I say, we had even more fun this time! Music was playing, we sang, we danced, we laughed, we chopped and assembled. You know, all the fun things! Lol!

So, it is that time of the year again and I have been busy with our next workshop. We are going to be 8 people again and to be different and less crammed, I decided to rent a space for the workshop, (Merci Micheline pour l'idee :))

Oct. 5th is the day and I can't wait. I just finished making the labels for the ziplocks. All I have left to do is print everything, stick the labels to the bags and buy my groceries.

How does General Tao Pot Roast or Sticky Orange Chicken Drumsticks sound?? Delish right? Those are just 2 of the 10 recipes we'll be assembling.

Ok, all this talk about food is making me hungry! Who will be joining me for the next freezer meal workshop??

Keep it Spicy my friends!
